Dissolve yeast in water add in shortening, salt, sugar and half the flour. Beat 2 min at med speed or 300 strokes manually. Scape side down, add remaining flour, blend with spoon until smooth. Cover with cloth and let it rise in warm location approx 85 degrees for 30 min. Beat batter about 25 stokes, spread it evenly in a greased loaf pan. Smooth top and pat into shape. Let dough rise again about 40 min. Bake in pre-heated oven at 375 for 45 to 50 min until brown. Remove from pan and place on cooling rack, brush with melted butter, allow to cool before cutting.
