Cook noodles; drain. Sauté meat in butter only until it loses it redness. Add seasonings and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, onions, and noodles. Alternate layers of noodle mixture and meat in a greased 2 quart casserole, ending with meat. Sprinkle shredded cheese over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and browned.
