     French Toast Casserole

Ingredients
2 loaves of french bread (take and bake baguette)
2 1/2 cups whole milk
4 eggs
1 tblsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 tblsp. karo syrup
 
topping to be added right before baking-
1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 tblsp. sugar
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine

Instructions
Bake both loaves of bread according to package directions or until desired doneness. Let cool completely and slice into 1/2in. slices. Set aside. You can do this step a day ahead of time.
In a saucepan, melt butter and add in brown sugar and karo syrup. Cook until bubbly. Pour into bottom of 9x13 pan. Pack the sliced bread into the pan on top of the syrupy mixture. In a blender, combine milk, eggs, salt and vanilla. Blend until frothy. Pour over bread. Make sure to pour in between the slices and press down to ensure full coverage of bread.
Refrigerate overnight or for at least 8 hrs. Remove from fridge 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the top. Drizzle with the melted butter. Bake uncovered 40-45 minutes.
