     Caramel Pecan Dumplings

Ingredients
Caramel Pecan Sauce
1 1/2 Cups packed brown sugar
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
1/8 Teaspoon salt
2 Cups hot water
Dumplings
1/2 Cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 Cups of flour
 
2 1/2 Teaspoons baking power
3 Tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon of salt
3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
2/3 Cup of milk

Instructions
Caramel Pecan Sauce -Combine brown sugar, butter, salt and water -Bring to boil -Simmer covered for 5 minutes
Dumplings -Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt -Cut in butter -Add pecans -Stir in milk to only moisten ingredients -Drop by tablespoonfuls into gently boiling syrup -Cover and simmer for 15minutes without lifting cover -Serve hot with sauce spooned over dumplings -Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip
