     Grandma French's Sugar Cookies and Frosting

Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp cream of tarter
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
 
1/4 tsp almond extract
Frosting Ingredients-
3 boxes of powdered sugar
1 cube of butter
1 tsp vanilla
Sweetened Condensed Milk in quantity that makes desired thickness.
Food coloring

Instructions
Combine and mix dry ingredients. In a large mixing bowl cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until well mixed. Add dry ingredients, blend on low until combined, do not over mix. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour until firm. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut dough with your favorite cookie cutter to shape. Bake at 350 F for 8 minutes or until edges turn brown. Frost as desired (edges only or entire cookie, cookie sweet enough for edge only frosting)
Frosting- Mix all ingredients until smooth adding milk slowly until desired thickness is achieved. Add food coloring to shade desired to match or accent chosen cookie cutter.
