Cream 2 cups sugar, vanilla, shortening, and butter flavoring together. While beating, add 6 eggs one at a time. Sift flour and salt into mixture then add coconut flakes. Pour into well greased and floured angel food tube pan; bake 325 degrees 1 hr. 20 min. 5 minutes before cake is finished baking, pour following over and return to over to finish baking- boil together 1 cup sugar, water, and coconut flavoring.
