Crust- Combine 1/2 cup softened butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed) and 1 cup flour. Press in bottom of 8 x 8 inch pan, bake at 350 for 20 minutes, until golden brown. Cool.

Filling- Combine 1 cup brown sugar (packed), 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 cup coconut, 1 cup nuts (pecans are best), 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spread over crust and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool.
