Preheat oven to 350°F. Sift sugar, cocoa, flour, salt, baking soda,
and baking powder. Add shortening and hot coffee and beat for 2
minutes. Add egg vanilla and beat for one minute.
Pour batter into greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
