     Basic Barbecue Rub

1/4 C coarse Salt (kosher or sea)
1/4 C dark brown sugar, packed
1/4 C paprika
3 Tbsp freshly ground black pepper
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1/2 to 1 Tbsp dried onion flakes
1/2 to 1 Tbsp dried onion flakes
1/2 to 1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp celery seeds

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir or whisk to mix. Transfer to a covered jar and store away from heat and light. The rub will keep for several months.
