Mix sugar, corn syrup, and water in a large heavy saucepan. Stir in sugar is dissolved over low heat; then increase heat and boil; without stirring; until temp. reaches 310 F.
Remove from heat, add coloring and flavor. Pour into prepared pan sprinkled with powdered sugar to thickness of 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch.
Cool, then break into pieces.
