To make syrup, bring water to a boil in a sauce pan. Stir in sugar until completely dissolved. This should take about 3 minutes. When finished, move pan to the freezer. Chill for 3-5 minutes.
Combine ice, strawberries, and lime juice in blender. Stir once with a spoon to ensure ice is thoroughly mixed. Add rum and syrup--blend thoroughly.
Serve promptly with straw or spoon. Enjoy!
