Ingredients
Sauce -
1 cup (250 ml) maple syrup
1 cup (250 ml) brown sugar
1 cup (250 ml) water, boiling
1 / 4 cup (65 ml) butter
Cake -
1 1 / 2 cup (375 ml) flour
1 tea spoon (5 ml) baking powder
1 / 4 cup (65 ml) butter
 
1 cup (250 ml) sugar
1 cup (250 ml) milk

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325 F. Sift together flour and baking powder. Set aside. 2. In a bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add sugar until smooth.
3. Pour a quarter of the milk and flour. Mix. Repeat until all the milk and flour are in the bowl. 4. Grease a rectangular 13x9 inch (32x22 cm). Pour the batter.
5. In a saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil and boil them for a few moments. 6. Pour the sauce over the dough. Do not mix. Bake at 325F for 45 minutes.
