     Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
2 lbs potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
1/2 cup half and half
3 tablespoons butter
Salt
Pepper
1/2 oz Garlic Powder
 

Instructions
Peel potatoes. Cut them into a few big pieces (big pieces will take a little longer to cook but will absorb less water). Put potatoes in a pot and cover with cold water and add some salt. Bring to a boil and then let simmer for 15-20 min. Pierce with a fork or knife to make sure they are cook all the way through.
Drain the potatoes then return them to the pot you cooked them in. Place back on stove over low heat. This will remove more of the water and make the potatoes fluffier. Make sure you don't burn them.
Add salt, pepper and garlic powder. Add warm half and half and butter. Mash the potatoes.
