     Caramel Chocolate Squares

Ingredients
about 50 (14 oz.) light caramels
2/3 c evaporated milk
1 box German chocolate cake mix
3/4 cup margarine melted
1 c chopped nuts (optional)
1 c (6 oz.) chocolate chips
 

Instructions
Combine 1/3 evaporated milk & caramels & melt. Set aside. Grease and flour a 13x9 pan. In large bowl, combine dry cake mix, margarine, 1/3 cup evaporated milk & nuts. Stir by hand until dough holds together. Press 1/2 dough in pan and bake at 350 for 6 minutes.
Sprinkle chocolate pieces over baked crust and spread caramel mixture over choc. bits. Crumble remaining doubh over top and bake 15-18 minutes. Cool slightly and refrigerate about 30 minuts to set caramel layer for cutting into bars.
