     Indian Dhal

Ingredients
1 ¼ cups red lentils
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon garam masala (more if needed)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon coriander
 
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cups water

Instructions
Rinse and soak lentils for 10 min. Cook onion in oil till soft. Add spices, mix well, add lentils and water. Bring to a boil then cook on low for about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally until soft. Serve with warm pita triangles.
