     Portuguese Bread

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 pkg yest
1/2 cup warm water
2 medium size cake pans
1 large frying pan
Vegtable oil
 

Instructions
Sift flour into a large mixing bowl. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Dissolve salt and sugar in water also.
Add enough water to make a thick sticky dough (it will be wet dough) Stir and cover with dish towel or a cloth, put in a warm place and let rise for 1 1/2 hours.
Grease cake pans. Shape into ball and grease the top with vegetable oil. Let rise for 1 hour in a dark, cool place.
Preheat oven to 350F. Heat large frying pan medium heat. Dump bread into frying pan and lightly brown. Flip over and brown Put into oven and bake for 45 min. at 350F.
