Soak beans overnight, after washing. Bring beans to boil; reduce to simmer and cook 2-3 hours.

Brown beef and chopped onion in lightly oiled skillet about an hour before beans are done.
|
|
|
Gradually add taco seasoning to meat mixture, cooking it slowly into the meat.
Dip off grease from top often.
|
|
|
Add the meat mixture to the beans being careful to leave out as much grease as possible.
