Place cabbage and onions in a well greased casserole dish.
Make a rue with butter and flour. When bubbling well and lightly colored add salt and pepper then slowly whish in milk till you have a thickened sauce.
Pour the sauce over the cabbage onion mixture and top with parmesan. Bake at 350 covered till cabage is tender. Top with crutons and cook uncovered for 10 min more
