Put the potatoes, carrots and onion around the bottom of your crockpot. Set the meat in the center. Top with season packet. Add the beer and enough water to just cover the meat.
Cook on LOW for 10-12 hours. 30 minutes before you eat remove the meat and let rest. Add the cabbage and cook until softened (not mushy).
Great Sauce for the meat-
Mix 1/2 cup of applesauce with 2 Tbsp. dijion mustard
