2 T butter
|
|
250 g ground meat (beef or turkey)
|
|
1 onion, chopped
|
|
2-3 red chilis, chopped
|
|
1.5 c lentils
|
|
2 cans beef broth (or 4 c water and 2 bouillion cubes)

1 can diced tomatoes (or 3 fresh, peeled and chopped)
|
|
cumin
|

salt
|

Instructions |
|
|
Melt butter in pan. Break up and cook ground meat in pan until brown.
|

Add onions and chili and saute until tender.
|
|
|
Add in lentils, tomato, broth and cumin. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until lentils are soft, 20-30 min.
|

|
Add salt and pepper to taste.
|

Suggestions |
|
Serve in bowls with some fresh yogurt or sour cream on top to balance the spice.
