Preheat oven to 375. Line or grease 12 cup muffin tin. Gently stir 1/4 cup flour and blueberries together. Set aside.
Mix remaining flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Add the egg, milk and butter, stirring only enough to dampen the flour; the batter will be lumpy.
Gently stir in blueberries. Fill muffin cups equally, about two-thirds full. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
