Thaw spinach but do not drain. Puree spinach in a food processor. Saute onion in butter. Add flour, stirring constantly for 2 minutes, and then add milk to make a thin white sauce.
Add pureed spinach and salt. Heat thoroughly.
Serve topped with a generous sprinkling of grated cheese and crumbled bacon.
