Melt butter in top of double boiler over simmering water. Stir in confectioners sugar, chocolate and evaporated milk. Cook for 30 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat; beat until well blended. Store in refrigerator.
This sauce will thicken as it cools. It may be reheated over hot water. Thin with half and half.
