Combine ingredients and bake on a griddle. It makes 18 griddle cakes.

Variations- Using the same recipe, make a biscuit about 2 inches across and flat on top. Butter the top and place a duplicate piece of dough on it. When baked the two parts will separate and may be used as a foundation for any kind of shortcake.
Roll the dough into a thin sheet and bake in one piece on a large cookie tin. Spread with jam or applesauce to which raisins and cinnamon have been added. Cut into squares and serve.
Place a little orange marmalade or a lump of sugar dipped in orange juice in the center of each biscuit and bake.
