Place a layer of sliced sweet potatoes in the bottom of a greased kettle or Dutch oven. Put in a slice of ham and then a layer of 6 pineapple slices. Put in another slice of ham, a layer of pineapple and a layer of sweet potatoes. Sprinkle with sugar and dot with butter. Add a half cup of pineapple juice for moisture. Cover tightly and cook for 2 hours in a bean hole.
