Press one can of the crescent rolls into the bottom of the pan. In a bowl mix together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over the crescent layer. (Optional) Put preserves or jam over the cream cheese. Place the other can of crescent rolls on top of filling. Do not press down. Pour melted butter over the entire pan. Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon and sprinkly over the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until top in crisp and golden.
