1 c. flour
|
|
1/2 tsp salt
|

1 1/2 tsp baking powder
|
|
6 tbsp sugar
|

1/4 lb butter
|
|
1 egg
|
|
1/4 c. milk
|
|
4 c. peeled, sliced apples
|

1 tsp cinnamon
|
|
|

1/2 c. jelly currant (optional)

Instructions |
|
|
Sift flour, salt, baking powder and 3 tbsp sugar.
Work in half of the butter.
|
|
|
Beat in egg and milk, making a dough. Pat into
buttered 12x8 pan.
|
|
|
Cover dough with apples, sprinkle with 3 tbsp sugar
and the cinnamon. Pour over melted butter.
|
|
|
Bake at 400 for 35 minutes (brush with melted jelly
if you want).
