Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In a saucepan, melt butter. Remvoe from the ehat and stir in the cocoa until smooth. Blend in the eggs, sugar and extracts. Stir in the flour mixture, cherries and nuts. Pour into a greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
For icing, in a bowl, blend the butter, vanilla, confectioners sugar, cocoa and milk until smooth; spread over hot brownies. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool on a wire rack and cut into bars.
