Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Beat well.

Gradually add dry ingredients, beating after each addition. When mixture gets too thick to beat with a mixer, stir with a spoon until all is mixed together well.

Have a tube pan greased and floured. Layer as follows.
1) 1/2 of mixture 2) 1/2 of topping* 3)1/2 of mixture
4) 1/2 topping*

|
Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before turning cake out of pan onto a plate. Spinkle with confectioner's sugar while warm.
