Preheat oven 350 degrees.
Grease one loaf pan.
Combine shortening, vanilla, sugar and eggs; cream well.
Stir in dry ingredients, alternating with milk, Add vinegar and bananas; Mix until smooth.
Add walnuts; mix well.
Bake for 60 minutes or until top starts to crack down the middle (if wooden stick comes out clean)
Move to cooling rack for 5 minutes.
Turn out of pan onto cooling rack; Cool completely.
Put in airtight container or wrap in wax paper and aluminum foil.
