Scald milk and pour over margarine, sugar, and salt. Stir until sugar dissolves. Cool until lukewarm.
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add yeast and egg to milk mixture. Sitr in flour. Let rise in a greased bowl until it doubles, about 1 hour.
Punch down. Knead and roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Brush with melted margarine. Sprinkle with mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nuts. Roll out and slice into pieces.
Let rise in a greased pan, about 1 hour. Bake at 375° for about 30 minutes. Mix confectioners sugar, boiling water, and vanilla. Spread on roll while they are hot.
