Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper (NOT waxed paper!). I would recommend doing this even if you are using a nonstick cookie sheet. Lay out the pretzels so they line the bottom of the cookie sheet. You want them to be in a single layer covering the entire surface. Put the health bars in a food processor or chop until it looks fine.

Melt the butter in a sauce pan. At medium heat and once the butter is completely melted, slowly stir in the brown sugar. As soon as the mixture starts to bubble turn the heat down to simmer and keep stirring until it is completely blended and looks like caramel. This process should take between 3 – 5 mins.

Once the caramel is finished, carefully pour it over the pretzels. See why I told you to use parchment paper… should have listened dummy. Once the caramel has evenly spread out over the pretzels but is still hot, quickly pour the milk chocolate chips over the caramel. The idea here is that the heat of the caramel melts the chips. You will see them begin to soften fairly quick. Use a rubber spatula to evenly spread the melting chips like frosting on a cake top. One the chocolate is evenly spread over the top, sprinkle or shake the ground up heath bar all over the top.

Place in the refrigerator or freezer until cool. Then remove it from the pan, peal off the parchment paper and break into pieces. Try and keep the mixture cool until serving, otherwise it’s pretty messy.
Traditionally this dessert is made with Saltine crackers in place of the pretzels. That is the reason the picture shows it that way. I think the salty pretzels make it taste better.
