1 tablespoon fresh oregano or 1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
2 cups water or beef stock
salt and pepper
1/2 cup cheddar cheese
500g spaghetti noodles
Instructions
1. heat oil in a large pan. saute onions and garlic until soft. add saute for 1 minute.
2. add beef and brown over high heat, stirring constantly to break lumps.
3. add tomatoes and their juices, tomato paste, herbs, seasonings, and water or stock.bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 40-60 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated and sauce is thick.
4. boil and drain spaghetti and toss with a little butter. pile onto serving bowl. sprinkle with half the cheese.
5. sppon sauce over the spaghetti an serve with the remainder of cheese.
