Use fully ripe or yellow bananas. Mix together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Cream shortening well. Add sugar gradually and continue creaming until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add bananas, oatmeal and nuts and mix thoroughly. Add the flour mixture and mix well. Drop by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes. Remove from pans immediately.
