1 package (about 18 oz.) chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare mix
4 oz. white chocolate candy discs
Red, white, and blue decorating sugar
1 container (16 oz) chocolate frosting
Instructions
1) Preheat oven to 350 F. Line 60 mini (1 3/4-inch) muffin cups with paper baking cups.
2) Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Spoon evenly into prepared muffin cups. 3) Bake 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 minutes. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
4) Place large piece of waxed paper down on work surface. Melt candy discs according to package directions; place in plastic squeeze bottle or piping bag fitted with small round tip. Pipe firework shapes on waxed paper, a few at a time; immediately sprinkle with decorating sugar. Repeat to creat 60 large or 120 small fireworks. Let stand 15 minutes or until set.
5) Frost cupcakes; top with fireworks.
