Wash potatoes in hot water rubbing any dirt off.
Peel potatoes and dice into chunks
fill a pot with water and 1 tablespoon of salt.
Boil potatoes until you can cut them easily with a fork.
Drain water from potatoes.
In the same pot that you cooked potatoes melt 1 stick of butter.
Add potatoes and 1 cup of milk.
Mix on low with a hand mixer
Salt & Pepper to taste.
