Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar and Crisco and beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Beat batter until light. Add bananas and stir. Sift dry ingredients together three times. Stir into batter, beating until smooth. Add walnuts. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake 60 to 70 minutes. Cool in pan 5 minutes and turn out to cool. This slices nicely when warm. Can be stored in refrigerator or freezer.
