Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
1. Grease the 9x9x2 in. baking pan with the shortening or cooking spray.
2. Measure the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. Stir with a spoon until well blended.

3. In a small bowl, beat eggs with a fork. Add the drained corn, milk and oil to the bowl. Stir with a fork until well blended. Add the flour mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until well mixed.

4. Pour the batter into the greased pan. Put the pan into the oven. Bake until the corn bread until golden (about 35-40 minutes).

|
5. Remove from oven and cut into 9 pieces.
