2 oz. butter
|

2 c basmati rice
|

2 tsp. tumeric
|
|
2 bay leaves
|

8 green cardamom pods
|

6 whole cloves
|

1 tsp. fennel seeds

2 tsp. salt
|
|
3 c room temperature water
|

Instructions |

|
In medium stock pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in rice, until coated evenly with butter.

Add salt, turmeric, bay leaves, cardamom pods, cloves and fennel seeds and sauté with rice for 3 -5 minutes, until fragrant.
|

|
Turn heat to medium high and add water. Cover pot and bring to boil.
|
|
|
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 min., or until liquid has been absorbed. Turn off heat and let sit, covered for 5 min.
