In large mixing bowl stir together flour, sugar and spices. Using pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. (You can use a mixer, too.)

Form mixture into a ball and knead 'til smooth.

|
Divide dough into small portions and roll each portion into a 10-inch rope on lightly-floured surface. Cut ropes into 1/2-inch pieces. Place on ungreased shallow baking pan (jelly roll).

|
Bake at 325 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until edges are firm and bottoms are lightly browned. Cool on paper towels.
