Cream butter or margarine, with sugar and vanilla; add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Add melted chocolate. Sift flour with soda and salt and add to creamed mixture with the water. Pam spray three 8-inch round pans. Line the bottom of the pans with wax paper. Pour and divide the mixture into the three pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool and frost with chocolate icing (below).
Chocolate Frosting-
Heat milk; combine sugar and flour. Add beaten egg. Blend until smooth and slowly add to hot milk, cook stirring until thick.
