16 oz shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz fresh, 8 oz bagged)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350. Cook sausage and garlic in
hot oil in a large skillet over med-high. Heat 5 -7
min or until sausage crumbles and no longer pink.
Remove w/ slotted spoon, reserving drippings in
skillet. Drain sausage mixture on paper towels, and
transfer to large bowl. Stir marina sauce and half
tsp salt into mixture.
2. Sautee onion and next 3 ingredients in drippings,
5 min or until tender; stir in olives and chopped
pepperoni. Reserve 1/4 cup onion mixture.
3. Prepare pasta according to package directions.
4. Melt butter in a heavy sauce pan over low heat;
whisk in flour slowly until smooth. Cook, whisking
constantly, one min. Gradually whisk in half and
half; cook over med heat, whisking constantly 7-10
min or until mixture is thick and bubbly. Stir in
fresh mozzarella, Parmesan, pepper, and remaining
salt. Mix onion mixture, pasta, and sauce in large
bowl.
5.Transfer pasta mixture into a lightly greased 13x9
baking dish, and top with packaged mozzarella cheese,
reserve 1/4 cup onion mixture and pepperoni slices.
6. Bake at 350 for 30 min or until cheese is melted or
lightly browned. Let stand for 5 min before serving.
