2 C uncooked elbow macaroni, cooked almost aldente
8 oz cheddar, shredded
8 oz colby cheese, cubed
8 oz shredded pepper jack cheese
2 tbl flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/8 tsp nutmeg
4 tbl sour cream
1 large egg, beaten
1 C heavy cream
1 C half and half
panko crumbs
3 tbl butter
salt,pepper,paprika
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350.
In large deep round baking dish mix pasta with
cheese reserving some of the cheddar for the top.
Mix flour salt, peppers, mustard and nutmeg. add
sour cream,egg, heavy cream, half and half. pour
over the pasta and cover with cheddar cheese.
bake uncovered until the top is just beginning to
brown about 30 minutes. In small pan melt butter,
add panko crumbs and season with salt pepper and
paprika, lightly toast crumbs. spread over
casserole and return to oven 5 more minutes.
