Preheat oven to 325, or slow roaster (That's what I use) to same temp. Rinse roast completely, rub well with brown sugar, coating all sides. Place in bottom of pan or roaster, adding 1-2 cups stock or water in the bottom. Cook for 30 minutes, lower temp to 300.

Remove from oven, and baste. Sprinkle spices over the top. Put back in oven, cooking for an additional 3o minutes. Remove again, and coat top with molasses. Continue cooking and baste with molasses as desired. Full cook time should be 5-6 hours.
