1/2 lb butter
|

3/4 c sugar
|

2 well beaten eggs, room temperature
|

1- 8 oz pkg chopped dates
|
|
1 c chopped walnuts
|
|
2 pkgs either Peek Farms Rich Tea Biscuits Danish Butter Cookies or Salerno Butter Cookies

Instructions |
|
|
Put butter and sugar in saucepan and stir until mixture boils. Add the room temperature, beaten eggs.
|

|
Remove from stove. Mix in the dates, walnuts and crumbled butter cookies. Reserve some of the cookie crumbs for the topping.
|
|
|
Spread in lightly buttered 13 x 9 pan. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs on top. Refrigerate a few hours until set. Cut into squares.
