In a large skillet sauté the hamburger and add
the chopped onion. Season the meat with salt,
pepper, and ˝ tbsp each garlic powder and
Italian seasoning.
Add the can of pasta sauce and can of diced
tomatoes. Add one can (14.5 oz
can) of water. Let simmer.
Meanwhile, get out your blender or hand mixer
and a mixing bowl. Blend together the cottage
cheese, the egg and 1 tsp salt, ˝ tsp pepper, 1
tsp each garlic powder and Italian seasoning
and 1 tbsp of water. Get this as smooth as
possible. This may taste over seasoned but
remember you’re seasoning the pasta too.
Into the crock pot on LOW - ladle about 1 cup
of the sauce on the bottom.
Add ˝ of the uncooked pasta.
Layer ˝ of the cottage cheese mixture in
dollops over the dry pasta.
Add ˝ of the sauce mixture.
Layer the remaining pasta, then the remaining
cottage cheese mixture and sauce. Do not stir.
Walk away. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8
hours.
