1 package (2 sheets) all butter frozen puff pastry, cold but thawed
1 large egg, in 2 tbls water, beaten
3 Tbls whole grain mustard
black pepper
8 oz deli ham, thinly sliced, of choice
6 oz grated aged white cheddar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a sheet pan
with parchment paper. Unfold 1 sheet of puff
pastry on a lightly floured surface. Gently
roll with a rolling pin until each side is
increased by 1/2 inch. Place pastry on baking
sheet and brush pastry with egg wash.
Combine mustard and pepper and brush over egg
wash. Leaving about an inch border all the way
around. Place ham evenly all around, place cheese
over ham. Make a 2nd layer if have plenty of ham
and cheese. or if desired
Roll out the 2nd set of pastry as same as
before. Gently place on top of cheese and
press edges together with fingers. Gently fold
about half inch of edge to make a crust border.
Press edges with tongs of a fork. Dip fork in
flour if sticks.
Lightly brush the egg wash mixture of edges and
top. Cut a few small slits on top.
Bake until golden 15-20 minutes?
