2 cups pineapple juice or apple juice (preserves the natural flavor)
2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 stick melted butter
Instructions
Combine berries, 1 cup sugar, 4 oz butter, cinnamon, vanilla and pineapple juice in a boiler and bring to a boil. Make a slurry with the cornstarch and add the thickening to the pot and cook until thickened.
For the crust- mix one cup self rising flour plus one cup sugar plus one cup of milk and 1 stick of melted butter. Mix well and pour into a casserole dish.
Pour the berry mixture on top then bake until the crust rises to the top and is done when tested.
