Combine 1 cup flour and powdered sugar. Using a fork, cut
in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press
firmly into the bottom of an ungreased 9 inch square pan.
Bake 10 minutes.
Combine 1/4 cup flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add
eggs and beat well. Stir in cherries, coconut, and walnuts.
Spread the mixture over the crust. Bake 30 minutes or until
golden brown.
Cool and cut into bars.

Suggestions
These are very sweet so I cut them into small bars. They look very festive on a platter of mixed cookies.
