3/4 lb green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch lengths
1/2 pound(about 3 cups) bow tie pasta
1/4 cup store bought pesto
1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions
Large pot of lightly salted water to a boil and add the green beans and cook until barely tender. Immediately put them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking. Then drain the green beans
Put the pasta in the big pot and cook until barely tender then add the green beans in to make them warm again. Save a 1/3 cup of pot water then drain the rest.
Return the pasta and beans to the pot, add the pesto and the cheese, and toss it together. Then add the cooking water you put aside to make a sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
